A man was found with suspected gunshot wounds in Kristianstad late Monday evening, sparking a major police operation.

The incident, reported after locals heard loud bangs in the Gamlegården area, led to the area being cordoned off and a large-scale search involving drones and dog patrols.

The victim, who was seriously injured after being hit by multiple shots, has been rushed to the hospital.

No arrests have been made, but police are actively seeking the perpetrator(s) with the aid of technological and forensic findings at the crime scene.

Police spokesperson Filip Annas emphasized the urgency of the ongoing investigation to apprehend those responsible.
