A female lawyer in her 50s was brutally assaulted in her apartment building's stairwell in Norrköping, Sweden, last Friday night, in an attack linked to her professional work, particularly in family law.

The incident, which occurred around midnight on April 12th, sparked an outcry from the Swedish Bar Association, highlighting the serious risks lawyers face due to their work.

A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of the attack, which left the lawyer severely injured but not life-threatening.

The Swedish Bar Association's survey shows that a significant portion of lawyers have faced harassment, threats, or physical violence due to their profession, with an increasing number feeling more at risk.
