Folklistan, a newly formed political party in Sweden, has announced the recruitment of Johan Nissinen, a current Member of the European Parliament for the Sweden Democrats, as their new EU parliamentary candidate.
The announcement was made during a press conference held at a local farm, where Nissinen expressed his excitement to join a movement he believes will make a significant difference.
He was particularly drawn to the party's proposal to halt the import of "tortured meat".
Folklistan's campaign also includes a promise to dismantle "rural-hostile legislation", critiquing current climate and environmental policies for disproportionately affecting Swedish agriculture and small businesses.
Founders Jan Emanuel and Sara Skyttedal, alongside recruits from various political backgrounds including the Christian Democrats and the Greens, are aiming to reshape EU policies to better serve Swedish interests.
