Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has stated that Iran refused to negotiate the release of Ahmadreza Djalali, a Swedish citizen imprisoned in Iran since 2016. Despite government efforts, Djalali remains in the notorious Evin Prison, while two other Swedish nationals were successfully exchanged.
Djalali, convicted on charges of spying for Mossad, has been detained for nearly 3,000 days.
His wife, Vida Mehrannia, has voiced criticism towards the government's handling of the situation, questioning why her husband's life is undervalued.
