In a chilling discovery on Valentine's Day, staff at the Degermyran recycling center in Skellefteå, Sweden, came across a glass jar containing something frozen.

Initially perplexed, the situation took a grim turn as the frozen item thawed, revealing what appeared to be a human hand.

The unsettling find has prompted a police investigation, with the case being treated as involving serious crime, according to Alexander Johansson, the on-duty preliminary investigation leader in Västerbotten.

The police have since seized the suspected remains for further analysis to determine if they are indeed human.
