A healthcare blockade by the Swedish Association of Health Professionals (Vårdförbundet) is set to expand to 29 municipalities, including Helsingborg, affecting approximately 200 school and elderly care nurses.
This action follows an earlier strike involving 63,000 midwives, biomedical analysts, radiology nurses, and general nurses who stopped working overtime.
The union demands better schedules and pay.
If the blockade proceeds, managers may have to work on the ground to cover for sick nurses.
The school system is also preparing, with plans to redistribute resources and expedite new hires to mitigate the impact.
