The Swedish Association of Health Professionals has issued a strike notice affecting five regions, involving about 2,000 members.
The strike, commencing on June 4, includes biomedical analysts, radiology nurses, and general nurses.
This action follows an earlier overtime and hiring blockade, and aims to achieve shorter working hours for healthcare staff.
The expanded healthcare blockade now impacts 29 additional municipalities, with significant effects expected on eldercare services.
Despite the strain on healthcare services, the union emphasizes that ensuring adequate resources is the responsibility of employers and policymakers.
