Early Spring Brings Unusual Warmth to Sweden

Published: 2025-03-03

Sweden is experiencing an early and unusually warm spring, with temperatures expected to reach up to 15 degrees Celsius in some areas this week.

In Västerbotten, the meteorological spring has already arrived, marking an exceptionally early start.

Holmön and Pite-Rönnskär recorded seven consecutive days with average temperatures above zero degrees, officially signaling the arrival of spring on February 21 and 22, respectively.

Normally, spring in Västerbotten begins in early April, making this year's early warmth a rare occurrence.

However, meteorologists caution that colder weather and snow could still return in the coming weeks.
