Healthcare personnel in Region Kronoberg have issued a dire warning about patient safety this summer.
An open letter from emergency staff and ambulance workers at Växjö Central Hospital, signed by over 100 staff members, highlights severe understaffing concerns.
The letter states that from weeks 25 to 32, the number of nurses on duty will drop from 15 to 9 per day.
"We have never been this few before," said Adam Karlsson, an emergency nurse.
The hospital management attributes this reduction to difficulties in recruiting temporary nurses.
