The emergency unit at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå faces a severe staff shortage ahead of summer, with more than half of the required personnel missing.
The issue arose after a strike led healthcare staff to cancel all extra shifts planned for the summer.
To manage the crisis, Region Västerbotten proposes postponing parts of the staff's vacation to September and hiring temporary personnel.
The region's leadership is negotiating with the union to implement these changes, but staff are unhappy with the proposed solutions.
