A consultant previously employed by the Swedish Public Health Agency (Folkhälsomyndigheten, FHM) has been charged with revealing personal data from about 800 children.
The breach raises concerns that information from the entire vaccination registry, encompassing data on approximately seven million individuals, may have been compromised.
The consultant, hired to work on IT, was reported to the police in 2022, suspected of hacking into the national vaccination registry and leaking data on minors online.
FHM has since taken steps to enhance security, emphasizing the importance of trust in the handling of personal information.
The case has also been reported to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, highlighting the severity of the breach.
