A 66-year-old man has been charged with conducting a long-term, extensive mapping of sensitive military installations in Sweden, according to the Swedish Prosecution Authority.

The individual is accused of illegally handling a vast number of secret and sensitive documents related to numerous defense facilities, showcasing a level of systematic methodology and high expertise.

Senior prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist emphasized the severity of the crime, stating that the exposure of such information could jeopardize national security.

The accused reportedly stored a large quantity of secret information within his residence, leading to charges of severe unauthorized handling of classified information.
