Swish, a popular payment service in Sweden, has issued a stern warning to its users about a rising trend of fraudulent activities involving fake Swish apps.

These scams, primarily targeting private users, mimic legitimate transactions but no actual money is transferred.

The police have reported several incidents, particularly involving youth, who use these fake apps to deceive sellers, especially in cities like Motala and Varberg.

Swish emphasizes that they never contact users via phone, email, or SMS, and advises anyone approached in such a manner to report it to the police immediately.
