In a series of swift actions, two vigilant employees, Celine and Therese, played a crucial role in apprehending a fraud trio targeting the elderly in Sweden.
The fraudsters, who used a method known as 'physical vishing,' would call victims pretending to be from a bank or police, then send an accomplice to collect bank cards.
Celine noticed a masked man with multiple bank cards at an ATM and alerted Therese, who followed the suspect and reported his car's registration to the police.
This led to the arrest of three men, who were later convicted for numerous frauds against elderly victims, stealing over two million kronor worth of valuables.
The case highlights the importance of public vigilance and quick action in combating crime against vulnerable populations.
