A new wave of scams is sweeping across Sweden, with fraudsters impersonating officials from the Postkodlotteriet (Postal Code Lottery).
These scammers are using sophisticated 'spoofing' techniques, making their calls appear legitimate and difficult to detect.
Birgitta Starkman, a seamstress from Mullsjö, fell victim to these con artists and is now warning others.
'They were eloquent and credible.
I believed it was real the whole time,' Starkman recounts.
The scammers inform unsuspecting victims of false lottery wins to gain their trust.
Police warn that there's only one way to unmask these Postkodlotteriet imposters, urging citizens to remain vigilant against this deceptive trend.
