Swedish students have shown remarkable improvement in mathematics, according to the latest Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS).
The results reveal that fourth and eighth graders in Sweden have achieved their highest scores ever, with eighth graders outperforming their peers in other EU and OECD countries.
This marks a significant shift from previous years when Swedish students were below average in mathematics.
The improvement is particularly notable among boys, especially in the fourth grade.
However, the widening gap between the highest and lowest performers remains a concern.
While math scores have improved, science results have remained stable, keeping Sweden above the EU/OECD average.
