In a move to innovate while preserving Sweden's alcohol monopoly, the Social Democrats propose allowing farm sales of beer, wine, and spirits, but with a twist - through Systembolaget, the state-owned liquor store chain.
The party suggests establishing a special farm sales selection within Systembolaget and creating an app for purchases at local breweries, vineyards, and distilleries.
Customers could sample products directly at these locations but would receive their orders via Systembolaget's delivery service, not taking them home immediately.
This proposal aims to counter the potential threat to the monopoly from the government's upcoming legislation on farm sales.
The Social Democrats also consider enabling local producers to act as agents for Systembolaget.
