Swedish transport authorities are expressing serious concerns about the state of the country's roads and railways.
Many are over 100 years old, and most were built before 1970, resulting in urgent need for renovation and modernisation.
The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) has presented its proposals, highlighting the need for tough prioritisation of investments and maintenance in the coming years.
It estimates that an additional 150 billion SEK will be needed to maintain infrastructure and carry out planned investments at the current pace.
