Sweden is bracing for a major snowstorm, with the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) issuing multiple yellow and orange warnings for strong winds and heavy snowfall, primarily along the west coast from Skåne to Värmland, Stockholm and Uppsala County, and along the east coast around Västerbotten County.
Traffic services are heavily affected, with numerous accidents and train cancellations reported.
Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration, has raised its preparedness level and urges people to stay informed about the situation before venturing out.
The severe weather is expected to continue overnight and into Thursday.
Among the incidents, a truck has slid off the road on E20 south of Örebro, causing significant traffic disruption, and two trucks have collided on E6 near Strömstad.
Measures are in place to tackle the adverse conditions, including the deployment of tracked vehicles in Örnsköldsvik.
Authorities are advising motorists to exercise caution or avoid travelling altogether.
