A suspected dangerous object has been discovered in the Funkabo area of Kalmar, prompting police to cordon off a large section of the neighborhood.

The alarm was raised at 11:55 AM, and the National Bomb Squad has been dispatched from Malmö, although they are still several hours away.

Residents in the vicinity have been advised to stay indoors as a precaution.

This incident follows a similar event earlier in the week when another suspicious object in Kalmar was found to be live.

Police spokesperson Sara Andersson stated that the initial assessment was challenging, necessitating the involvement of the bomb squad.
