Summer Arrives in Sweden with Warm Welcomes

Published: 2024-05-03

The arrival of meteorological summer has been officially declared in southern Sweden, with temperatures consistently above 10 degrees Celsius for five consecutive days.

This warm weather has reached the majority of southern Sweden, including cities like Malmö, Kalmar, Göteborg, and nearly all of Gotland, marking the start of the summer season in these areas.

Meanwhile, in Västsverige, high summer temperatures exceeding 25 degrees Celsius have enticed residents to the region's beaches for the first swims of the year, despite the water temperatures not quite keeping up.

The contrast in weather conditions across Sweden underscores the diverse climatic experiences within the country, ranging from the onset of summer in the south to lingering spring conditions in parts of Norrland.
