Severe weather conditions, named storm Pia, are expected to cause disruptions in Christmas traffic across Sweden.
The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued multiple warnings for snowfall, icy roads, and strong winds.
Particularly, southern and western Götaland and Skåne are expected to experience sudden icy roads from Christmas Eve.
The risk is highest during periods of rain on cold road surfaces.
Additionally, strong winds and snow showers are expected to hit northern Uppland, Gotland, and the Norrland coast.
The weather agency advises travelers to be cautious of snowdrifts and poor visibility.
Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration, has urged people traveling for the holidays to take it easy on the roads.
