A man in his 30s was seriously injured in a workplace accident on a railway in Västsverige, Sweden, on Saturday morning.

Initially reported to have fallen from a skylift, it was later clarified that the man fell from a piece of equipment that derailed on the tracks.

During the fall, he was struck by a heavy object.

Emergency services, including an ambulance helicopter, quickly transported him to the hospital.

Despite the severity of his injuries, the man was conscious immediately after the incident.

The police are currently investigating the accident as a suspected workplace incident.
