In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a police car on a high-priority mission collided with a moose on highway 53 between Oxelösund and Nyköping.
The two officers in the vehicle were injured and have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
They managed to report the accident themselves, indicating they were conscious and able to speak at the time of the rescue.
The police vehicle was severely damaged and required towing, while the moose died at the scene.
Another police patrol took over the urgent mission, which involved a report of a person acting violently in Nyköping.
