A significant fire broke out in a row of houses in Sandviken early this morning, prompting a large-scale emergency response.

The alarm was raised at 4:22 AM, and firefighters from five stations are currently battling the blaze, which has affected eight homes.

Residents were initially advised to stay indoors and close all windows and doors due to the smoke, but this warning has since been lifted.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, although one resident, Tommy Östlund, lost everything in the fire.

The police have launched an investigation into possible negligence as the cause of the fire remains unknown.

Efforts to extinguish the fire and ventilate the area are expected to continue throughout the day.
