A 25-year-old man died in a drowning accident on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred at a swimming area in Järla, Nacka, outside Stockholm.

Eyewitnesses saw the man disappear underwater and attempted a rescue.

He was retrieved from the water and airlifted to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police have stated there is no suspicion of foul play.
