A tragic incident unfolded in central Skellefteå on Wednesday, as a man in his 65s was found dead following a drowning alert.

The emergency services were called at 12:44 PM after reports of a person seen in the water between Parkbron and Viktoriabron.

Despite a large-scale search operation involving police and rescue teams, the man's life could not be saved.

Drones were deployed to assist in the search, but the efforts ended with the unfortunate discovery of the deceased.

Authorities have confirmed that the man's family has been notified, and there is no suspicion of foul play in connection with the incident.
