The annual lobster fishing season has kicked off on Sweden's west coast, with the first catch auctioned at the Gothenburg Fish Auction.
This year's premier lobster fetched a price of 51,000 kronor per kilo, a significant figure though not surpassing the 2012 record of 102,000 kronor per kilo.
Enthusiastic fishermen, including Karin Malmcrona and Klas Bengtsson from Kode, embarked on their early morning fishing expedition in Hakefjorden.
The duo is also participating in a research project aimed at mapping lobster populations along the coast.
The lobster fishing season will continue for recreational fishers until November 30 and for commercial fishers until the end of the year.
