In Malmö, a significant police operation unfolded after a live hand grenade was discovered outside a residential building in the Lindängen area.

The alarm was raised late Thursday night by a resident who spotted the grenade near an entrance.

Police quickly responded, securing the area and evacuating the lower floors of the building while advising others to stay indoors.

The National Bomb Squad was called in, and a controlled detonation was carried out around 3 AM, using a blast box and sandbags to safely neutralize the threat.

The incident is being investigated as an attempted public destruction and a violation of explosive materials laws.

No suspects have been apprehended yet.
