The risk of forest fires is high or very high across Kronoberg County, as warned by SMHI.

Since Tuesday, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency has stationed two water-scooping aircraft at Växjö Airport, ready to tackle any fires by collecting water from lakes.

Similarly, in northwestern Skåne, a fire ban is in effect due to the combination of hot weather and wind, which has elevated the fire risk to its highest level.

The ban includes restrictions on disposable grills, public grilling areas, and gas stoves in woods and fields.

Rain is expected by the weekend, which may reduce the fire risk.
