A major electrical fault early Monday morning has brought train traffic through Hässleholm to a halt, affecting routes such as Malmö-Stockholm and connections between Skåne and Blekinge.
Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration, currently has no forecast for when service will resume.
Ola Malmberg, head of railway maintenance at Trafikverket, highlighted the complexities of the situation, including the risk of subsequent issues once repairs are underway.
In response, Skånetrafiken is deploying replacement bus services for several routes, though challenges in securing enough buses are anticipated.
This disruption also impacts long-distance travel, with significant delays expected for those traveling through the affected area.
