In the midst of the lively celebration by the Folklistan party during the EU election night, Dick Erixon from the Sweden Democrats secured a spot in the EU Parliament.

Erixon, the third candidate on his party's list, managed to edge out Maria Rosander, who needed about 480 more votes to surpass him.
