An explosion occurred in the early hours of Thursday at a residential building in Johannelund, Linköping, causing significant material damage, particularly to the staircase area.

Police received multiple calls just before 01:00, leading to a large-scale operation at the scene.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, following the blast that forced residents to evacuate.

No injuries have been reported so far.

The national bomb squad has been called in to ensure the area is safe for a technical investigation.
