An explosion in a residential building in Norsborg, south of Stockholm, destroyed an apartment door late Friday night.

Police believe the blast occurred in the stairwell, causing limited damage to the apartment.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though residents were home at the time.

The National Bomb Squad and forensic teams have completed their investigation at the scene.

Authorities have launched a probe into public endangerment and violations of explosive materials laws.

A suspect was arrested overnight by the regional task force and remains in custody.
