The European Parliament elections of 2024 are slated for June 6-9, with Sweden holding its vote on June 9. To participate, Swedish citizens must be 18 or older, hold citizenship in Sweden or another EU country, and be registered in Sweden.
Voters can cast their ballots early, from May 22 to June 9, anywhere in the country, or vote from abroad.
The European Parliament, which is directly elected by EU citizens, will expand from 705 to 720 members following the 2024 elections.
It plays a crucial role in shaping EU laws and the budget, in collaboration with the EU Council.
