An elderly man in his 80s drove the wrong way on the E4 highway near Mjölby, causing two separate accidents.

The first incident involved a car that overturned while trying to avoid the oncoming vehicle, but fortunately, the occupants escaped serious injury.

Minutes later, the elderly driver collided with another car carrying two adults and two teenagers, all of whom were taken to the hospital.

The police received numerous calls about the wrong-way driver and attempted to intercept him, but were too late to prevent the collisions.

The driver is now under investigation for gross negligence and causing bodily harm.

The reason for his wrong-way driving remains unclear.
