A high-speed police chase unfolded on the E4 highway near Uppsala, stretching into Sollentuna, north of Stockholm, after a car was reported driving erratically late last night.

The pursuit ended when police managed to stop the vehicle and detain the 43-year-old driver, who now faces charges of drug-driving, emergency vehicle obstruction, and gross negligence in traffic.

During the chase, two police cars were damaged after being hit by the suspect's vehicle, necessitating their towing.

Both the driver and several police officers involved in the incident have been taken to the hospital for checks.
