The Swedish Work Environment Authority has filed a complaint against ABC Bygghissar, the company responsible for the elevator that collapsed last year, killing five construction workers.
The incident occurred on December 11 in Sundbyberg, north of Stockholm.
Lennart Adérn, a lawyer at the Work Environment Authority, stated that the company violated workplace safety regulations, leading to the fatal accident.
The complaint has sparked a debate on construction site safety and the responsibility of main contractors for their subcontractors.
