Over 3,000 healthcare workers across Kalmar and Kronoberg regions in Sweden will cease all overtime work from April 25, as announced by the Swedish Association of Health Professionals.
This move comes after failed negotiations between the union and the employer, Sweden's municipalities and regions, over working conditions.
The strike action will affect nurses, midwives, radiographers, and biomedical analysts, among others.
The deadlock is primarily over work hours, including the employer's ability to deviate from the labor laws.
With over three million overtime hours logged by members last year, the union stresses that such work scheduling is unsustainable.
