The Swedish security conference, Folk och Försvar, has begun with a significant focus on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The conference was inaugurated with an address by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj, delivered via link, expressing gratitude to Sweden for its solidarity with Ukraine.

The Swedish government presented a new strategy against terrorism and violent extremism, highlighting the evolving nature of these threats since the previous strategy in 2015. The discussions at the conference also revolved around Sweden's role in the new security-political situation, with hopes of these discussions advancing further than the previous year.

The conference is attended by 400 power-brokers from several countries, lasting three days.
