Swedish Voters Shift Priority to Healthcare

Published: 2024-03-09

Healthcare has surged to the forefront of voter concerns in Sweden, overtaking law and order, especially among women, according to the latest Aftonbladet/Demoskop survey.

This shift comes amid an economic crisis that has severely impacted the country's regions, with almost all reporting financial losses and potential job cuts in healthcare.

The political landscape is also shifting, with Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson's popularity declining, marking the smallest lead over Ulf Kristersson to date.

The survey indicates a significant gender divide in political priorities, with healthcare topping women's concerns, while men still prioritize law and order.

Meanwhile, the Moderates have gained ground in perceived ownership of key issues, overtaking the Social Democrats in several areas.
