Ahead of the EU elections, the Liberals and the Christian Democrats in Sweden are calling for a ban on the social media app TikTok unless it severs ties with China, citing security concerns.
Liberal top candidate Karin Karlsbro argues that TikTok, owned by a Chinese company, poses a risk of leaking information and spreading disinformation.
While some candidates avoid the app due to these concerns, others use it to reach young voters.
Karlsbro also emphasizes the need for stricter regulations on digital usage among children and supports the EU's new migration pact and stronger climate policies.
