Sweden's Supreme Court has decided not to hear a high-profile climate lawsuit filed by the youth-led group Aurora.
The group, consisting of 300 young people, accused the Swedish government of insufficient climate action, claiming it endangered their lives and health.
The court ruled that the case did not meet the criteria for individual legal action, as the alleged harm was neither imminent nor specific enough.
Aurora had hoped to push Sweden to take stronger measures to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
The court emphasized that addressing climate change is a political matter, not a judicial one.
Despite this setback, Aurora remains committed to advocating for climate justice.
