In Sunne, Värmland, a clear-cut area has been named Sweden's ugliest by a Greenpeace competition.
Anders Olsson from Sunne municipality finds it ironic that signs encouraging people to enjoy the forest remain amidst the desolation.
Resident Daniela Roth's photo of the site won the contest out of 80 entries, highlighting the area's devastation.
The clear-cutting was necessary due to bark beetle infestations, although it has left an unsightly scar on what's meant to be a wellness trail.
The site received 27% of the votes, topping entries from other regions in Sweden.
