Sweden's KD Open to EU Far-Right Partnership

Published: 2024-06-03

Sweden's Christian Democrats, led by Ebba Busch, are open to limited collaboration with Europe's far-right parties in the EU Parliament, including Marine Le Pen's party.

Busch emphasized that partnerships would be issue-specific, with significant ideological differences excluding many topics.

Simultaneously, the far-right is gaining ground in the EU, potentially altering coalition dynamics post-EU elections.

In response, Sweden's Social Democrats demand clarity from Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on his party's stance regarding collaborations that may indirectly support pro-Russia parties.
