As Sweden eagerly anticipates the end of a prolonged cold snap, meteorologists forecast a significant shift in weather patterns.

According to SMHI, warmer air from the south is expected to usher in substantially higher temperatures across the country, potentially setting a new heat record for 2024. This weekend, Götaland could see temperatures nearing 20 degrees, with a possible peak over 21.1 degrees by next week, surpassing previous highs recorded in Malmö.

Despite the warm welcome, the forecast also hints at possible rain showers accompanying the warmer air, and experts caution that the warmth may be fleeting, with colder temperatures possibly resuming thereafter.
