A 19-year-old student was unexpectedly apprehended by police during a graduation ceremony at Stora Torget in Sundsvall.

The arrest, which took place in front of friends and hundreds of students, was due to a deportation order from the Swedish Migration Agency.

His classmates expressed shock and described the incident as deeply humiliating.

The police stated that the student had been evading authorities, a claim his legal representative and family deny.

They plan to contest the detention and prevent his deportation.
