Today marks the annual Stockholm Pride parade, where thousands are expected to join in celebration of love and equality.

While many political leaders will participate, two notable absentees are Ebba Busch of the Christian Democrats and Jimmie Åkesson of the Sweden Democrats.

Ulf Kristersson (Moderate Party) and Johan Pehrson (Liberals) confirmed their attendance, emphasizing the importance of supporting LGBTQ+ rights.

In contrast, Åkesson's party has been excluded from the event due to a longstanding decision by Pride organizers, who state that the Sweden Democrats do not align with their values.

Other leaders, including Magdalena Andersson (Social Democrats) and Muharrem Demirok (Center Party), expressed their commitment to fighting for human rights and standing in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.
