In September, Jimmie Åkesson, leader of the Sweden Democrats, will marry his girlfriend, Matilda Kärnerup, in Sölvesborg.

The wedding is set to be a grand event with around 500 guests, including prominent political figures.

However, two key political leaders, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Liberal leader Johan Pehrson, have declined the invitation, citing a lack of personal friendship with Åkesson.

Kristdemokraternas (Christian Democrats) Ebba Busch has confirmed her attendance.

The ceremony will be officiated by KD politician Hans Eklind.
