The future of Sollefteå Hospital's intensive care unit is under threat as Region Västernorrland considers shutting it down.
This decision would mean critically ill patients must travel 1.5 hours to Sundsvall for emergency care.
Linda Matthews Skoglund, who survived sepsis thanks to Sollefteå's immediate care, fears such a move could cost lives.
"I would not have survived the ambulance ride to Sundsvall," she said.
The proposal has sparked protests, with locals and healthcare professionals urging politicians to reconsider.
Demonstrators argue that closing the unit endangers lives and undermines the community's healthcare access.
